It allows users to monitor the network and quickly identify issues before they become major problems.Securing the network edgeEnsuring data protection means controlling network access. Protocols such as IEEE 802.1X port-based authentication guarantee that only known users are connected to the network.Unknown users who physically connect can be segregated into a pre-determined part of the network. This offers guests Internet access, while ensuring the integrity of private data.Gigabit and Fast EthernetThe IE340 Series SFP ports support both Gigabit and Fast Ethernet Small Form-Factor Pluggables (SFPs)(1). This makes the IE340 Series ideal for environments where Gigabit fiber switches will be phased in over time, and allows for connectivity to the legacy 100FX hardware until it is upgraded to Gigabit Ethernet. Support for both speeds of SFP allows organizations to stay within budget as they migrate to faster technologies.Network resiliencyThe IE340 Series supports highly stable and reliable ICT network switching, with recovery times down to 50ms. The IE340 can be customized with the most appropriate mechanism and protocol to prevent network connection failure. Choices include Allied Telesis Ethernet Protection Switched Ring (EPSRing™), and the standards-based ITU-T G.8032.Configurable PoE power budget and dynamic power allocationOn PoE-sourcing IE340 switches, the overall power budget can be configured to establish a close relationship between the power sourcing feature and the real capabilities of the external Power Supply Unit (PSU)(2). PoE power is allocated dynamically, based on the current usage of each powered device.Future-proofThe IE340 Series ensures a future-proof network with a comprehensive feature set, and is Software Defined Networking (SDN) ready, supporting OpenFlow v1.3.

This includes powerful control over network traffic types and protection against attacks.ResilientThe convergence of network services has led to increasing demand for highly-available networks with minimal downtime. Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack™), in conjunction with link aggregation, provides a network with no single point of failure, and a resilient solution for high-availability applications. The x950 Series can form a VCStack of up to eight units, at any port speed, for enhanced resiliency and simplified management. With VCStack over Long Distance (VCStack LD), stacks can also be created over long distance fiber links, making it the perfect choice for distributed environments too.Allied Telesis Ethernet Protection Switched Ring (EPSRing™) and the standards-based G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection, ensure that distributed network segments have high-speed, resilient access to online resources and applications.ReliableDesigned with reliability in mind, the x950 Series guarantees the continual delivery of essential services. Hot-swappable components, such as XEMs, fans and load-sharing power supplies, pair with near-hitless online stack reconfiguration to ensure that maintenance doesn’t affect network uptime.Environmentally friendlyThe x950 Series supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), automatically reduces power consumption whenever there is no traffic on a port, reducing operating costs.
The Allied Telesis MCF3000/8LC is an 8 port 1G LC to 10/100/1000T Media Conversion blade for the MCF3000 Series Chassis. Capable of being used in unmanaged or managed mode (with the addition of the MCF3000M management module), this blade allows the user up to 8 gigabit conversions per blade for high density traffic applications.

Powering remote devicesAllied Telesis IMC200/2000 Series Industrial Media Converters (IMCs) are ideal for powering remote devices, such as IP phones, video cameras and wireless Access Points (APs), which are more than 100m from a Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch. Each IMC can provide up to 70W of PoE.The 2000T/SP and the 2000TP/SP each feature a 10/100/1000T twisted-pair port, and an SFP port which supports and auto detects 100X and 1000X optics. No switch configuration is needed. Allied Telesis offers a wide variety of SFPs featuring multimode, single mode and BiDi optics.Models with a fixed fiber-optic port are available with SC or LC connectors. With these, you can achieve distances up to 2 km (100Mps) or 550 m (1000Mps). With the SFP model, you can achieve greater distances using a long-range SFP.In addition to transmitting data, the twisted-pair port also injects power down the cable, allowing a remote PoE powered device to operate without any additional power source. All PoE+ devices (IEEE802.3at compliant) are supported. All PoE+ devices support 802.3at, PoE+, LTPoE++ and 4-pair. The PC200x PoE+ Series can deliver up to 70W of power to the remote device.Remote Power CycleThe IMC200/2000 Series supports the Remote Power Cycle feature. This allows a remote administrator to log in to the host switch device and disable the switch port to which the IMC is attached, causing the PoE+ device to lose power. This allows administrators to reset remote devices without physically going to the location.Jumbo frame supportMany backbone switch products support the industry-standard IEEE 802.1Q specification for Virtual LANs (VLANs) which sends extra-long data packets on the network. The IMC200/2000 Series are fully compatible with these long packets, enabling them to be used in modern networks.Smart MissingLink™ (SML)The SML feature monitors network connections and provides a notification when a link fails, allowing administrators to quickly identify the source and location of failed links, and thus minimize downtime.
Gigabit USB Media ConverterThe Allied Telesis UMC2000/SC Gigabit mini media converter is small and flexible, with a multi-mode SC fiber connector to convert USB (-A or -C) to 1000SX/SC. It is also TAA compliant.
